After our long hike to the volcano we were grateful for a nice soak in the hot springs at Eco Termales, a natural hot spring in La Fortuna. We arrived at dusk, enjoyed the pools and then had a dinner of comina typica: rice and beans, either fish, chicken or steak, a green salad with tomatoes and avocados, and juice.









We met a GREAT driver at the Observatory Lodge. We called him "White Hawk" after the name of the villa that we staying in. On our first day he drove us into La Fortuna but he took a very scenic detour and showed us lots of animals! He was really good at spotting things. On the second day he drove us to the lava fields and then came with us on the hike. His name was changed to "Black Hawk"... It is actually a long story. Ask Hope, I mean Esperanza.
